Slovak and Czech (Hudák): dialect variant of Hudec ‘fiddler’. Rusyn (from Slovakia and Poland; in Slovakia mostly spelled Hudák) and Ukrainian: occupational name for a fiddler musician from Rusyn (Lemko) and Ukrainian hudak.
