Forums are a dying format for discussion, and a lot of good general ones vanish every year. The ones that survive are active, like the old killie talk types. Don't forget, we started as an e-mail list serve, with tons of activity. There were days I received 100 e-mails all about killies!
We aren't going to get far resurrecting that. Technologically, people and systems have moved on.

The principle is there though. If people cooperate with each other, if they speak up and if they ask and discuss questions, this will work. That's what the online AKA used to be.

I don't want answers here, I know how to keep most killies. I want tons of questions and a chance to not only learn about the fish, but about the people. We need to network and rebuild, or the AKA will vanish.

So to me, the format is minor. The investor site is a very weird one to look at, but it's here. Sell, hold or buy "KILLIE"? Buy.

The AKA seems content to hold.

I've wondered if the sheer nastiness we saw on the old killie forums created a culture of silence. If you spoke up or tried to have fun, you became a target for 3 or 4 bitter old men who just wanted to tear everyone down. On one level, it's ancient history, and on another it's a lesson learned. They were allowed to play whackamole with the many many constructive and creative people in the killie world. That will not happen here.

If you were there, I think that era's over. If you are under 50 and you've come to a forum that looks like this - hey vinyl came back too. Why not try a forum, to go hand in hand with the Facebook presence? People have decided to step up.

Content is everything. Give and go, respectful discussion - that's the main feature we need. I will join and try to participate in every online killie venture time allows me to. Ultimately, we need a new website, but I have no tech skills to contribute and it's a big ask for volunteers.
