Nope. The people who say that always vote against spending that money on the social safety net.
That doesn't even make sense.

"We need to keep spending money on CO2 reduction because otherwise we'd be empowering those who want to eliminate Social Security."

P.S. - The world isn't ending due to heat waves. Winter will still come, the rains will still arrive, and the climate will still cycle through all four seasons.
