SIMO may be entitled only to the breakup fee. It depends on the language of the merger agreement, which I couldn't find online. It's not clear to me that arbitration is even required in this case. But I wouldn't count on an award greater than the breakup fee. Still, that might make SIMO an attractive opportunity, given that the demand for all types of semiconductors, especially solid state memory, seems to be rising.
