That is reassuring.

I really like the original Justified, which pivoted around the twin poles of Raylen Givens and Boyd, played by Walter Goggins, who I thought was excellent in the part, giving what could be a cartoon villain many layers of depth and underlining the similarities between the Good Guy and the Bad Guy. Hence, when I saw there was a new actor playing Boyd, I was disappointed, and then dipped into the reviews enough to see several of them saying the new Boyd was cartoonish.

In any case, I am going to wait till it is all out before I watch, given that the old Justified was eminently binge-able.

I am also worried about Shetland. I just finished watching Season 7 and thought it started out very well, the best season in a while, but deteriorated as it went along. There were some American characters in this season and they seem to have infected the show, dumbing it down to network procedural level.. Heck, there was even a car chase -- boooorong -- in the last episode. And it even looks like we might have seen the last of Jimmy, who packed it in at the end of the season, but there will be another season so we'll have to wait to find out what direction it takes.

I did quite enjoy the last season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, which jumped back and forth in time, all the way to the 21st Century in the final scene.

I also watched the series Swimming With Sharks, which I had expected to be a remake of the movie with a woman in Kevin Spacey's role. But although it was also set in a high powered Hollywood agent's office, this is more of a thriller/murder mystery, a decent one at that. Not essential, but it had some fun moments.
