Hi Christine, The Hubble telescope has been revealing some amazing things about our universe. Also discovered recently are gamma ray bursts coming from explosions 5 billion light years away that pack the energy of our sun's lifetime of about 10 billion years into an event that lasts only minutes. We are now working on telescopes that will see 10 times as good as Hubble. Some of the Hubble images are really beautiful. Here is one site oposite.stsci.edu
