As you point out, if the market ALWAYS ends up higher due to inflation you can't stop once we have representative government... being a perma bull isn't a bad choice. Selling yourself as something else is... something else.

OTOH, being correct on a bearish call, even if you ignore most bears make them over and over as the markets rise, is WORTHLESS if the bear stays bearish at the bottom calling for lower lows as the market recovers to a level ABOVE where the bear made the original correct call.

The biggest obstacle to most is some of us have great memories and are not fooled by either.

The postering, FWIW, is MASSIVELY entertaining.
