The history of revolutions is long and often successful. With 100 million AR15-toting angry citizens it's not clear that a few hundred thousand soldiers and police would suppress those people all that easily.
It's not a slam dunk that president DementiaJoeBigGuy10% could successfully call citizens to defend his corrupt regime.

The Fake News media and political indoctrination class asserted that Russia would fall over and Putin would be chucked out and Russia would be overwhelmed by Davos Man and the QWERTY commie crowd. Ooops a daisy. Russia has done very well and as I predicted at the beginning, the blunder by the Deep State has been huge with Made in China's belt and road western border now formed from Norway, Finland down via Poland Hungary Romania to Turkey. Russia was forced into a subordinate relationship with China [1.3 billion people vs 0.1 billion people]
Russia could have been made into an integrated country with Europe if not actually part of it. That would have put the Euro/USA border at the Great Wall of China instead of in Kaliningrad in the heart of Europe.
I did think Russia would be defeated in their attempt to take and hold eastern Ukraine but they've done much better than I thought they could do. It looked like an April Glaspie type trap to entice Russia into Ukraine to then be target practise for the military/industrial/Congressional tax-payer looting complex. April Glaspie got Saddam to invade Kuwait. I had predicted something like that a year or two before when I discussed with my BP Oil International colleague that "a bullet through the middle east" would push up prices and profits for Exxon and Big Oil. We were observers of political machinations and it seemed an obvious USA action. I was not surprised when only 2 years later it was all on.
Zbigniew "give them their own Vietnam" in Afghanistan did a similar thing, which came back to bite USA in a big way, with the destruction and death of 911 and Afghanistan ironically turning into another USA Vietnam = oops a daisy. Iraq became another Vietnam too. Thousands of USA soldiers have been killed and 10s of 1000s maimed needlessly over those pointless attacks. Along with millions of locals dead, maimed, traumatised, impoverished. USA backing Islamic jihad, Osama bin Laden and mujahideen against Gorby the Great was a big blunder.
Maybe so many credulous Americans are all-in with DementiaJoe10% and his Deep State co-conspirators that they'll just roll over and let the USA go down the gurgler. It doesn't look like a good bet. The attempts to dump the right to bear arms have been rejected. It's not just for self-defence against criminals that people want to keep their guns. A significant portion are thinking that Big Brother has gone too far.
If Trump is gaoled on trumped up Soviet style charges, so many will think that they are next that resistance will reach critical mass.
But maybe as in England, Eurostan, Australia, New Zealand, people will roll over and go with the Loony Left commie wokester QWERTY CO2/N2/CH4 and DEI/ESG hysteria. In which case China wins outright.
Having megatons of debt is a good trigger point pressure.
BLM and Antifa are not the only crowds who can gather. Lots of Americans have had enough.
