In any bureaucracy there is cronyism and climbing. People don't go into Climatology research institutions to make money same as people like my mom didn't go into animal behavior to make money.

People get jobs with oil companies to make money.

You don't seem to understand the culture of hard science like this. Its no different than the science of calculating trajectories for something like Voyager 2. Its math. Its hard. Very few good scientists make up "models" for funding.

The ones that do work for oil companies. And you'll note that generally I defend oil companies from the idea that THEY cause climate change when its consumers who cause it.

Although the oil companies, like all corporations, have no problem lying to make profits, and they have repeatedly lied about the results of THEIR research.

Climatology institutions or University schools aren't after the big money except to pay for their computer cycles which comes from good research. People who've predicted climate change are salaried... their salaries don't get bumped up for predicting global warming.

Its a no brainer if you ask me. Anyone familiar with science should be able to figure this one out.
