This is what I'm talking about, Z. I'd MUCH rather prefer Newsom vs. DeathSantis over Trump vs. Brandon II:

'Like a boxing match': Ron DeSantis and Gavin Newsom embrace ‘risk’ in surprise debate (msn.com)

I have to hand it to Gavin Newsom, however. This is a gutsy move on his part, not the least of which is his decision to have Sean Hannity moderate the debate.

Not only that, but Newsom isn't in the best of political positions, as far as the nation outside of California is concerned. People are moving out of California and into Florida. Crime is crazy high here. San Francisco and Los Angeles are confirmed shitholes. And the very name of California is synonymous with extreme left-wing socialism.

I'm guessing that, unlike most of his colleagues in the Democratic Party, Newsom knows the hand that he is dealt, and is brazenly taking a risk by going ahead with the debate. He'll prep himself very well knowing that his long-term political future is at stake.

That's more than I can say for DeathSantis, who is desperate to maintain relevance and jump start his flailing campaign.
