I agree with Ron, the winner will probably have to be up about 30% to win the contest. Given that, I picked stocks that are close to breaking out and with any luck will break out before the contest ends. Then again, they could break out one day after the contest ends LOL.

PETM (7 15/32): PETM is on the verge of breaking resistance on the daily chart at 7 5/8. If it does, then my target would be 8 1/4 to 8 1/2 where it has more resistance. If it breaks that, then my target would be 10 1/2 to 11. And if it does all of that before 3/31/98, then I'll have a chance of being in the top 90% of the contest because the stock would be up about 40%. I'm sure that only 10% of the contestants would finish below that. LOL

RATL (13 5/8): RATL has a nice looking chart for a breakout. It recently closed back inside of the daily bollinger band, but the upper band is rising steeply and it closed above the middle weekly band last week. My target on this stock is 16 1/2 which would represent a modest six week return of only 21% LOL.

If all goes as planned, my two picks would average 30% and I will have a chance of at least not finishing last or second to last. gggg
