Hmm, this is fairly persuasive.

Shareholder damages are not damages to SIMO from the deal cancellation. That's according to precedent, even though it sort of defies logic.

It's a shame the arbitration is confidential, I'd be interested to read about how this topic is argued in arbitration court.

It seems MXL could even argue that due to the discussion SIMO did not pay $2.00 (or more) per year in dividend, thus saving $66 million cash on the balance sheet, so any alleged damages would have to be greater than $66 million before they become net damages. Ha ha, SIMO may owe MXL!
