Given you need to build fabs before you ship product and COHR has more orders than their pipeline can handle currently for the next year... it makes sense that FOUNDRY sales are soaring.

Applied Materials (NASDAQ:AMAT) shares rose nearly 4% in extended-hours trading on Thursday as the semiconductor capital equipment maker reported third-quarter results that handily surpassed expectations.

For the period ending July 30, Applied Materials (AMAT) earned an adjusted $1.90 per share on $6.43B in revenue.

Applied Materials (AMAT) said that revenue from foundry and logic accounted for 79% of quarterly sales, up from 66% in the year-ago quarter. Revenue from dynamic random access memory and flash accounted for 17% and 4%, respectively, compared to 15% and 19% in the year-ago period.

The company also generated $2.58B in cash from operations during the period.

A consensus of analysts expected Applied Materials (AMAT) will earn $1.75 per share on $6.18B in revenue.

Looking ahead, Applied (AMAT) said it expects net sales to be approximately $6.51B, plus or minus $400M in the fourth-quarter, with adjusted earnings between $1.82 and $2.18 per share.

Analysts were expecting $5.88B in revenue and $1.60 per share in adjusted earnings.
