A Look At Furlan Marri, The Worst Kept Secret In Great Affordable Watches hodinkee.com Their mechaquartz (have also seen it spelled mecaquartz with or without a hyphen) vintage looking chronographs are also interesting seen here at the company site along with ever other model they've ever made. furlanmarri.com Mechaquartz is an interesting type of hybrid movement that I believe Seiko and IWC each separately developed in the mid-late 1980s. Serious R&D went into its development but perhaps never was a big commercial success and sort of went away in the later 1990s as mechanical and quartz seemed to split off into separate development paths again. Now the company appears to be punching above its weight, so to speak, with this "Only Watch" offering. I hope this is a sign of the direction they're headed and bringing complications like this to a wider audience! Bravo! hodinkee.com I would guess this watch will sell for 10x or greater than its estimate which is artificially low imo. And I'd happily pay 20K chf for a regular version. Any regular version will have a starting price at least 2x higher than their auction estimate and because they are still a very small atelier suspect early examples to market will command higher than that!
