Speaking of intentionally making things cost more. RIP the incandescent bulb. Bought 4 of the new kind at the store for 14.99.

These new bulbs may be more efficient in that more of the electric energy goes into producing illumination. But I'm not buying the greener BS side of it. Look what they're made of, what it takes to produce them and what is getting disposed.

The packages say they last 7 years. What, if you never switch them on and off. Never seen em last a couple of years.

But the fundamental point is this: I ought to be able to buy what I want. I don't want or need a government nanny telling me.
