apples and oranges. to avoid ads with a VCR, you have
to pre-record your shows then fast forward through the
ads. with the current net filters, you surf in real
time as your normally do, except you NEVER SEE THE ADS.
you NEVER WASTE YOUR TIME waiting for them to download.

of course, if you are assuming the entire population of
the net will be too stupid to learn how to change the
default homepage of their browser, then maybe they wont
be able to spark two neurons together and block ads with
many of the available programs. but then again, I
try to give the average joe more credit than you.
