F16s. Being long in the tooth, I remember lots.

One of the things is how Zbigniew thought it a spiffing idea to back Osama bin Laden and Islamic jihad aka Mujahideen in Afghanistan, "giving the USSR their own Vietnam". Ironically, and amusingly ~ given the arrogant murderous hubris, that ended with my beloved twin towers destroyed and USA getting another Vietnam, with the same final result = defeated with the last helicopters off the roof.

Backing Mujahideen against Gorby the Great seemed at the time lunacy. USA continued the onslaught against Russia ever since.

F16s. One of the things I remember was the Stinger missile that Osama and co used to shoot down. USSR fighter jets. Woosh, bang = another one down.

I'd bet big money that the latest woosh bangs from Russia and China can be carried by a bloke and fired at F15s in the vicinity. I'd also bet that they are much cleverer than the old heat seeking or radar aiming methods. So dumping some aluminium foil or burning magnesium flares wouldn't confuse the rocket. I can see where the F15 or F35 is so I guess some cameras on the rockets can too. Teslas and other cars drive by sight. In the sky, it's even simpler than on a road in a busy city.

I'd put my money on soldiers on the ground armed with little woosh bangs. Including tiny ones weighing 100 grams in case detection electrophotonics detect 1 kilogram attack drones incoming from enemy lines.

The idea of dirty great 100 ton tanks roaring around at 100 kph, and supersonic piloted fighter jets seems so last century.

The F15s will be of no use. And will be woosh~banged early on.
