I've picked up numerous skills living off the grid most of my life. I recently installed with no help from anyone a generator that backed up the entire house panel, 200A service entrance, automatic transfer switch, battery and cold weather kit. I modified the existing service to meet code, installed a slack box and installed a transfer switch inside garage. A plumber ran the gas line to the generator and I purchased the concrete pad.
