For there to be an extra-terrestrial UFO spotting, said society would need to be ridiculously way more advanced than us, with the crew perhaps on a death mission. Said craft would need to carry enough fuel to liftoff, fly for who knows how long, escape the earth's gravitational pull while checking us out, and perhaps to land and liftoff again. Oh, and carry enough food if there's a crew. And to be clear, I completely deny being a shapeshifting alien from another galaxy that possesses such technology... though, you know, the movies here on earth get these folks all wrong.
