I didn't predict FTC would break up PPP. I only said IF FTC breaks up PPP... My understanding is Autonomous only recently began selling its systems abroad. On an anecdotal note, I recently went to a PRK seminar offered by a practice doing over 100 procedures a month using a Visx laser. That doctor told me he was very impressed with the Autonomous laser, especially with the potential to perform topography-based corrections, instead of the present indirect method of correcting based on refraction. When a Visx owner is impressed by Autonomous technology (and the data look better than Visx, in my opinion), it must be good, and definitely better than Summit, if Summit's lack of sales is any indication of their technological quality.
