Emory, I bet on the LS-120 6 months ago when I purchased three new computers. I have been satisfied with the drives. They are faster than floppy drives. In one computer we eliminated the floppy drive altogether.

I was concerned that the drives would not take hold. I don't like to move to far ahead of the trends. Since that time I have seen the drives available as external drives in several retail outlets. I also see built in support on many of the newer motherboards. I did not know of the SCSI option but that would be my preference now.

I am not aware of another drive that is backward compatible to the floppy (I recall reading about one once but have not seen a reference to it again). I do not know of any reason that this drive cannot be used in laptops and sub $1000 PC's. If you have ever looked at these machines there is simply not enough room for multiple drives.

We are in need of a simple mechanism to transfer files from one computer to another. At this point in time I do not see any alternative to the LS-120.

Start a new thread or get the spelling fixed in this one.

If you start a new thread my recommendation would be to focus on the LS-120 drive. Put several options for the spelling as some might not use the dash. If you put something in () be sure to use a space after the ( and before the ) so the search engine does not see the ().

What about something like

LS-120 drives ( LS 120 LS120 )
