in the early 80s I had the misfortune to work for a crook, he was a friend of a friend. I was getting dissatisfied where I was working, he started up a new business and offered me a job so I quit and went working for him. my job was a fabricator and iron worker. I built and installed items on high rise buildings. I was supposed to be a Union member, he took dues off my paycheck. I was his only legal worker, he had an illegal immigrant, a guy on UIC and a 13 yr old kid working for him. He had two guys who stole for him, our parts truck was full of stolen parts. He had one of those guys babysit his kids and he was a pedo and molested his kids. I found this out later when I ran into his exwife at a nightclub. He had Hell's angels connections. I even did some work for one. After 8 months my paycheck bounced. I saw red, I threatened him, he better pay all the money he owed me or else When he paid me he had his brother there to protect him. I found out I was not in a union they never heard of me, the fucker was pocketing the dues he took off my check. He's lucky I did not bash his brains in.
