Retired general and former Trump advisor Michael Flynn is once again the focal point of controversy, this time for his remarks insinuating that the Jewish victims of the Holocaust were responsible for their tragic fate at the hands of the Nazis.
Flynn’s Controversial Holocaust Claims
Speaking to a group of religious leaders, Flynn blamed Jewish individuals for their own deportations to the notorious Auschwitz and other concentration camps during the grim days of the Holocaust.
Flynn’s assertions in his recent speech significantly diverge from the generally accepted historical records.
Serving as Trump’s national security advisor for a mere 22 days back in 2017, Flynn went on record blaming Jewish mothers for succumbing to the Nazis and “handing over” their innocent children, who were later packed densely into train cars destined for places like Auschwitz.
In his words, “Any mother who would be told, “Give me your child, give me your baby, we’re going to separate you, we’re not just going to put you into a club coach car. We’re going to stuff you like a sardine into a train,” implying that these mothers had willingly complied with the Nazi’s demands.
The former general further raised eyebrows as he suggested that given the difference in numbers between guards and prisoners, the Jews held captive in camps like Auschwitz could have staged escapes without repercussions.
