Doren,
I said the smash and grab thing was innovative. Did you not read my post?
What's the difference? Breaking into cars in broad daylight, flash mob robberies, homeless peons going straight into retail stores like Walgreens and sweeping everything off the shelves and into garbage bags while being recorded, etc. etc. etc.

It's all the same thing. There is no "innovation" involved. Just brazenness.
Prohibition, bigotry against an ethnic minority (Italian immigrants) were fertile ground for crime.''
That's exactly the "logic" that went into California Prop 47, which virtually legalized theft.

Same "logic" is also what the woke DAs follow in their soft-on-crime policies.

Too many "disadvantaged minorities" being arrested for these crimes?

Let's decriminalize the act!

And for those acts that cannot be decriminalized, let's simply not prosecute!

Yay, look at the jail population going down!

Yay, look at the incarceration rates going down!

Oh wait, crime is going up? But but COVID! Yeah, let's blame that!

We in California are sick of it.
