you can always put your buy limit lower than the ask, but no guarantee you will get filled. Pete, There is no guarantee you will get filled at the ask if it is a limit order. That is up to the Market Maker. It is of course, likely. On the other hand, one typically can get filled at a 1/16th lower with a limit order as longs as the stock does not move up. Glenn
