I guess that I did not make my question clear. I acknowledge that we will have many more designs of complex chips, which take more masks
to produce. But if one of these multifunction chips replaces five old ones, for example, we have definitely lost the mask business associated with design of the five simple, separate function chips.
Have we come out ahead or behind on the complex new one?

I would think anyone close to the business would have a general rule of thumb as to what is likely to happen in this situation. The obvious issue is that while there will be rapid growth in production of masks for high end chips, how much will it be watered down by low growth or even shrinkage in production of masks for low end chips? (Counting the current quarter, seven quarters of basically no sequential growth in
sales can't all be blamed on Asia.)
