trump lowers value for tax purposes raises value for loans, hmmm where have we heard that before
Nothing wrong with that. Here in California, we have Prop 13 which caps the appreciation of homes for property tax purposes.

On the other hand, there's a huge difference between what Forbes estimates Mar-A-Lago's worth to be and what the Trumps claim it to be. Had the Trumps gone with a figure that is closer to that of Forbes, they could have avoided regulatory scrutiny, or at least given prosecutors one less thing to investigate.

But this is Trump. Why take a mere step over the boundary when you can just blow way past it?

And if prosecutors go after you, just run for president and claim that the prosecutions are "politically motivated."
