I discovered way back I only sell options and let the decay work for me. Sometimes covered call, or if I'm looking to enter a position sell a put. If the stock is near a price I like, sell the put a little lower if premiums are decent, and if I don't get the stock, pocket the premium. If I do get put the stock, got in for a little less than I was thinking.

I just about never buy an option.

I have learned if I think a stock may really go up, don't sell options against it to keep my choices open.
