Peter, I'm sure you are using an impartial source for your float data, but it seems that it can't be very timely. Here's what I see in the last few months that has been added to the float:
350,000 shares sold by Softbank on 12/31/97.
470,000 shares sold by softbank in Jan to raise the $28mm for Geocities, registered 1/13/98.
278,000 shares transferred by softbank to GeoCities, registered 1/13.
78,079 shares issued by Yahoo to Geocities, registered 1/13.
1,521,834 shares issued to Four11 owners, registered 1/22.
168,000 shares registered by Form 144 filings week of 1/30.
864,707 outstanding/exerciseable option shares out of 7.63mm registered 10/30/97.
Some of these we know have been sold already. Some we only know CAN be sold any time. Either way, it's a lot of shares that do not appear to be reflected in the "float" numbers.
