There seems to be an over heating and batter drain issue with some of the new phones. Some of it is related to reindexing the data that is transferred as well as other processes running in the background. Kuo posted something saying it is related to the titanium shell but John Gruber calls him out in this Daring Fireball post

Sounds like, like Gruber says, this whole thing is more of a nothing burger.
