To replace the now dead Feinstein, who herself served way too long as senator, Newsom picks a checkbox candidate to replace Feinstein as senator:

From the office of Newsom:
A trusted adviser to Vice President Harris and leader of the nation’s largest organization dedicated to electing women, Butler will make history as California’s first openly LGBTQ United States Senator and the first Black lesbian to openly serve in Congress in American history
Note that Newsom's office cites the following as her qualifications:

1) Trusted adviser to VP Brenda, who herself is a checkbox candidate and one of the WORST vice presidents in modern history.

2) Leader of an organization focused around the "women" checkbox.

3) First openly LGBBQ senator from California (another checkbox)

4) First Black lesbian to serve in Congress (yet another checkbox)

The woke left even has a term for checking off multiple boxes: iNtErSeCtIoNaLiTy.

Cause you know, Ms. Butler's "victimhood" is multiplied by each box she checks off:
  • Black
  • Woman
  • LGBBQ
Identity politics is alive and well in the Democrat Party.
