I think the switch to smoke free products is much more likely - Lindy principle at work here, since tobacco (nicotine) has been around for a couple hundred years.

Also the UK is fairly small market for BTI. The government can destroy any industry, but I think tobacco would be harder than destroying the oil industry in the UK - or more likely just chase them way.

Personally, it looks like the UK is the worst run country except maybe Hungary in Europe.
