Recently the thread had a bit of discussion, some of it civil <g>, concerning MU's current line widths. A phone call to MU ended the controversy, and confirmed the accuracy of the 10Q. When the debating started I fired off an Email to MU asking for confirmation, well I finally got an answer from Julie Nash (IR) that contains an interesting new bit of information. It seems MU has begun substantial 64mb production on a .25 micron process. I'm not convinced this alters their competitive position all that much, since all the other players are still ahead of MU in their 64mb ramp, but the bears are going to have to quit saying that MU is "nowhere in 64".

Currently, volume production of Micron's 16 Meg DRAM is on .30 micron process technology and will be moving to .25 micron line widths.

Volume production of Micron's 64 Meg DRAM (about 20-30% of current wafer starts) is on .25 micron process technology.
