Yes, new information "about the stock" can change the timeline.
But what about new information received about other stocks not yet held.
Look at newbies or people without much bankroll.
"I like xxx, and I bought and it should do well in next six months." "So you are buying for a six months planned holding?", I ask myself of this person. Two months later, "I'm out of xxx, I like yyy better." Nothing changed about xxx prospects.
Same reason I have trouble listening to people who ask Cramer about a particular stock: Is xxx a good stock to buy now? How long would you be planning to, or be interested in, holding the stock, I always want to ask them. Would Cramer's answer be it's a mad money two week buy and sell, or a five year holding.
===== You yourself, Elroy, have considered and alluded to the timeframe which you've considered for some stocks: NGL: "I think this guy is easily above $5.00 by April 1st next year." I assume you'll be in and reassess then if the stock hasn't met your goal by that time. |
