For the time being, since I'm neutral on which side are the "bad guys" who are not beloved by god, I'll just make this point.

There are good Israelis and asshole Israelis.

There are good Palestinians and asshole Palestinians.

Anyone who thinks each group is monolithic doesn't think. They are ruled by their emotions and instincts.

The asshole Israelis goaded the Palestinians which created more asshole Palestinians. The assholes are in charge on both sides.

The asshole Palestinians were STUPID thinking that attacking Israel would have any positive effect. They attacked out of pure frustration over Israel's tactics that seeming to them would never end until they were pushed into the sea.

If they were smart and understood history they'd understand that Gandhi DEFEATED the British, because he KNEW that the British people were essentially decent, he embarrassed them. He defeated Britain even though the British were many times as lethal and powerful. He killed no one, caused no Indians to be killed in revenge.

Someone like Gandhi is the only way the Palestinians can defeat Israel, because Israelis by and large are also essentially decent people.

Peace movement women in Ireland STOPPED the TROUBLES in N Ireland after decades of violence FAILED. Violence necessarily had to fail there, but for the peace movement there had to be MISERY on both sides first. Over decades SOME families had to suffer. Other families just continued to blame the other side.

If the Israelis were smart, and knew more about what their government does, they could end this kind of misery too. It seems to me they're too busy livin' large and getting wealthy to pay attention to what's happening to Palestinians.

There's no way Israel can end it through superior firepower. Any more than the British could end the violence in N Ireland through superior power.

So I think the misery on both sides will continue...
