Re: yield curve shifts from inverted to steepening. THAT happened in the past few days.

What are you looking at?
US Treasuries:
6 month: 5.23%
1 year: 5.29%
2 year: 4.85%
5 year: 4.25%
10 year: 4.02%

Only the very short term (3 month to 1 year) is not inverted. When macro analysts discuss the yield curve, they are most concerned with the shape out to the 5 year and 10 year. Corporate bond pricing is based on a premium to the 5 year Treasuries.
