My concern does not relate to the validity of MZ's disagreement. I tend to think that the buyback was a good idea, but I acknowledge that MZ may, in fact, be right. I'm troubled by the fact that he chooses to bring this "insider" dissent to a public forum where people with only limited information are forced to make up their minds about what the company is doing. We (the shareholders) have to make decisions about whether we support the management's strategy based on only partial information. And at some point, we must decide if we trust the management to make good choices. I think many people find it disturbing to read public statements by one company representative denouncing the decisions of another company representative. That, in my opinion, is not good management of public relations. And public relations has a great deal to do with stock performance.

I have appreciated MZ's posts here, and the perspective and enthusiasm that he has brought to the discussions about DCI. But, this concerns me.
