Peter, you are correct - you have to hold overnight before you are charged margin interest. (At least with Datek).

This all started with a comment suggesting that you would have to pay margin interest just because you have a margin account. As long as you don't use more than your equity, there will be no margin interest, hope that was made clear. (In other words, as long as you can control the urge, it's no different than a cash account. ;) )

Off topic - I'll send you e-mail later for those sector files. That would be great! I have my own .slf files for sectors that I follow, but it sure would be handy to have others available when other sectors come into play. If you'd like me to put these up on my web site, I'd be happy to.
