So far I have heard credible people state that a cat coming in contact with the fence around Gaza sets it off. I've heard that the normal response time is 90 seconds. I've heard that Israel has drones. I've heard they moved an entire group (brigade?) from the fence area a few days before, although it's unclear if they were the only forces normally deployed along the border. I've heard that the spotters did their jobs and relayed information.

I don't know what to make of the bits and pieces I've heard but find it difficult to dismiss as laziness, bad habits and incompetence.

I do however expect that the Israelis will endeavor to do more training.

Just in case.

So it never happens again.
