History repeats. America went through the same thing with mass immigration of European settlers, the government giving away free land with the Homestead Act, and the resulting violence between the government and the settlers against the Native American Indians. As with the Native American Indians, the Israeli laws, courts, and police work against the Palestinians. The Israelis repeatedly broke agreements with the Palestinians, just like the US agreements with the Native American tribes. Unlike the Native American tribes, private ownership rights are recognized in Palestine and the Israelis resorted to violence to coerce the owners to abandon their land and sell to the Israelis. Before the creation of the Israeli state in 1948-1949, they were illegally building settlements under the British mandate and the British tried to clear them out.

The US did away with the Homestead Act many years ago. The same should be done with the Homestead Initiative in Israel. Their policies of redlining to create purely Jewish communities and blockbusting Arab communities through intimidation are illegal here.

As in the US under the Homestead Act, Israel has created a corrupt violent situation with poor people coming into Israel expecting to get a free home, healthcare, and other benefits under the Aliyah program.
