And this week’s Good News: Three, count them THREE portfolios were in the black. Now that we have gotten that out of the way…

Wars in both the Middle East and Eastern Europe must have exerted some downward pressure on the market (-3.2% for the week). At least that’s what my Magic 8 Ball says. Biotechs generally weren’t seen as a refuge, the two indices down about -4%.

In the individual stocks, other than ASMB (+20% of their initial price, Woo hoo!), the six other stocks in the black for the week were pretty anemic. ASMB’s performance was undoubtedly due to their announcement of a partnership with Gilead, said partnership consisting of a swap.of $100 million (Probably enough to keep the lights on for a while) for a chunk of IP and equity (specifics hard to discern from the press release). Since at the close of trading ASMB’s market cap was $52 million, it seems the market hasn’t fully priced in the Big Wad O’ Cash, OR they think that the rest of the company's 'value' has a LOT of debt and worthless assets holding it down. None of this week’s winning stocks affected the composition or.order of the top five YTD stocks. One of those, INZY, did come in as the worst performer for the week (-50% of its initial price, continuing a long slide, but still having a YTD return of +170%.

Speaking of continuing slides this week the average contest portfolio lost -$4.2k.

Getting down to YTD specific’s ALONER with a whopping +$1.7k net return YTD still imaintains their lonely status as the only portfolio still in the black (and $7.4k ahead of second place STEVE LOKNESS) despite having every one of his picks in the red this week, The only other change in our top seven contestants’ ordering was ERIKOTTO having another bad week and dropping past RKRW into fourth place.

Looking at the weekly performance, as promised three contestants, DEW DILIGENCE, BMAZ001, and GENEGURU, reported positive returns, by manageding to have picked at least one the seven positive stocks for the week,, without including any big losers, to provide this week’s sunshine. In DEW DILIGENCE’s case they managed to hit three stocks above water for the week, including ASMB which addied $2.3k to their portfolio value. So, until next week …
