Lee, maybe you need to get a different news feed. Algo's help media profit more by sending you more of what irritates you. It's a constant feedback loop. The more you click on that stuff, the more they'll ratchet up the feed of that topic.

For example, there is a survey that asked people if they thought crime was increasing or decreasing. Something like 70% answered that it is increasing, and that number remained constant for 30-years.

However, in the US it has dropped for all but 3 of the last 30-years. It's around half of what it was in the 70's.
