I was stationed there. It's near impossible to get a concealed carry permit there.
You have to have a reason to get one such as part of your job, psycho ex trying to kill you etc. Not just because I want to like in the other 45ish states.
Massachusetts is even worse so don't get offended that I'm only picking on California. We had to file paperwork just to drive through during a move defining a 12 hour window on when we would be passing through with firearms in the vehicle.

My favorite was South Dakota. You filled out the paper work and the permit was already at your house by the time you drove home. LOL

Of course now, a lot of states including mine don't require anything.
