In the end, the real question is whether or not Israel will be successful at eliminating the military and political power of Hamas.

If they win - they’ll earn respect - and, quite likely, gratitude of many - maybe most - Gazans.
If they’ll prove unable to do that - that would be a serious defeat. And a dangerous one.
