The Sixers are acquiring Marcus Morris, Nic Batum, Robert Covington, KJ Martin, multiple draft picks, and a pick swap for James Harden, PJ Tucker, and Filip Petrusev
It is time to get on with the season. With Harden gone, the Sixers can finally embrace the team’s next chapter. With the Harden drama no longer hanging over their heads, they will now focus on Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey leading the team. New Coach Nurse has a lot of material to pick from.
Personally I'll miss James Harden. a great ball handler who gave the Sixers a super year in which Joel Embiid finally earned an NBA MVP but I welcome back Robert Covington who played for the Sixers from 2015 to 2018. In those five straight seasons by the time he reached his third year with the team, Covington had established himself as a full-time starter. During the 2017-2018 season, the Sixers turned their “Process” around and began making the playoffs. It's not clear what role he'll play as a Sixer.
Danny Green will be waived to make room for all the players coming in from the Harden trade. Though Green will hit the open market again, it wouldn’t be too outlandish to suggest that it may not be long before they bring him back.
