Berkshire’s original investment in BYD was one of their rare rather speculative investments which grew into a larger percentage of their overall portfolio than they felt comfortable with thus the profit taking. It’s classic Berkshire investment philosophy and does not reflect negatively on BYD’s future growth potential. That said, I too have taken some profits over the last couple of years not for reasons relating to BYD but for reasons relating to China in general.
