Its 90 days for filing after year end; 45 days after the end of an interim quarter. Many companies announce earnings prior to the end of the 90th day, and then file the formal report on the 90th day. Some extensions are allowed for companies that can't make the deadline, but the SEC gets mad if things drag on.
