Today in the Older Folk Portfolio I trimmed shares in SRE. The reason for trimming is that they announced a $1 Billion share offering at a price below yesterday's close. I knew SRE would drop in price today but the dilution may take some time for the market to absorb the extra supply coming to market and I had profits in SRE I didn't want to give back.

Since this created a taxable situation, I wanted to offset those gains by trimming some losses from AQN and BIPC.

I didn't invest all of the proceeds from these sales but I did open 3 new positions at $20K each.

I bought into CMI .. PAYX .. UPS.

The yields are lower, thus lowering the annual dividend cash flow slightly but the dividend growth is greater and hopefully the capital gain potential is as well.

CMI has a 3.08% yield and its last dividend increase was 7%.

PAYX has a 3.12% yield and its last dividend increase was 13%.

UPS has a 4.56% yield and its last dividend increase was 6.6%.

The cash that was left over from these sales is drawing 5% in a MM Fund.
