i think we were in china about 10 years ago for three vacation. terrific sites but never saw any street people. until i got her up early one morning to go to a local park about a mile away. we were the only non Chinese in the park. the program advertised tai chi every morning before start of the day's activities. we were welcomed into the group no one spoke English. she loved it!!! on the way back we ran into a few down and out couples.
through the whole program our group leader spent his time telling how much china wants to be a part of america. everyone in the group about 25 fell for it. Our last night he gave 1/2 speech on how much we are alike. the teachers, professor etc were all over him. i figure he was part of China military. he was in great shape and had approval for a second child. i also felt the dinner was taped. ha
