So, what are we collectively looking for here?

This is not a soul thread as I know it.
I certainly am not looking for old soles.
What we all, even the more informed forget to be aware of is that what we have here is a gargantuan change in the sea of precious metals investment. When I said that perhaps I would some day be able to afford a platinum boat anchor, I was not kidding. That is a long way off, but may be literally true. This is why South African mining interests are concerned. Do I think they would be wise to buy out the DD in US, Yes is the answer. One thing that the small investor must realize is that when the big interests begin to move, they do it in devious ways and they keep it from public interest until the deal is done. Just the way they operate. They can take an opposing view, also. They can publicly malign an effort while accumulating interest.
I know not what happens here but can tell you that the stock is a screaming bargain at these levels and will move perhaps down and then much, much higher. All can take this as stated.
Gold--Perhaps the dead cat bounces to the bottom again, and then no more bounces. Higher after that.
Silver--Beware the long position for the present.
